Penelokan

Penelokan

Penelokan is the gateway to the Kintamani region. The ride from Denpasar to Penelokan is about 63 km and takes about one and half hours journey. The name itself means ‘a place to see’. The village is spread 11 km along the rim and located 1500 m above sea level. From here the view of Mount and Lake Batur is astounding. You will be able to see the giant crater partly filled by Lake Batur being surrounded by mountains, Mt. Batur and Mt. Abang. It is this beautiful panorama that manages to attract thousands of tourists each year.

The average temperature is 22 degrees during the day and 16 degrees at night, much cooler than other parts of Bali. Thus, bringing a sweater is advisable. The cool temperature makes it suitable for coffee and orange plantations.

Various restaurants are open during day time enabling you to enjoy your meal with the beautiful panorama as the background. Several accommodations are also available should you wish to stay and enjoy the night.
